Research Assistant
Caledonia Swindells-Macleod (Callie) is currently working on the Youth Metacognitive Therapy (YoMeta) project, which aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people with common mental health problems. Caledonia completed her BSc in Psychology at the University of Chester and her MSc in Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Manchester.
Caledonia is interested in understanding the interactions between mental and physical health outcomes in children and adults. During her undergraduate studies, she worked on exploring the association between parental acceptance and rejection in childhood and psychological adjustment and loneliness in adulthood. Caledonia’s MSc thesis systematically reviewed the prevalence and incidence of Methotrexate intolerance in children and young people with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) and the effectiveness of current psychological and pharmacological interventions routinely used during intolerance management.
Caledonia Swindells-Macleod is current responsibilities in ADePT include conducting literature reviews, data collection and analysis, and contributing to the development of research proposals. She continues to pursue an interest in the psychological needs and the treatment of young people.
